Question. From the US here. When you were up in the roof, right after you mentioned the sensor, there was a white pipe sticking up. What is that for?

I just took a massive shit with more structural integrity than that building.

Can I say that a lot of people have let the homeowner down. Overlooking the doggy work, I didn't like pine timber being used to support a steel beam. What the hell is the world coming to. An architectural house like that needs serious money for serious builders. I would ask for the plans to be strengthened. It's dangerous. Lucky we have little earth quakes in Australia.

Well let’s face it anybody that takes an owner builders certificate to build a project of this size doesn’t have much between the ears the private certifier has not done a framing inspection at all so that’s the only come back for the owner is certifier As for your credentials you sound like text book builder I don’t know what your report will achieve for the owner except cost the owner a lot of money

In regards to the 20Mil stairwell... It is the worst formwork i have ever seen... And i seen a few shockers. The walls are architectural as well as structual, so they should have used new sheets of ply.

Hey Site Inspector dude, I love what your doing in exposing this shamosle and many like it. Its only just occurred to me that your probably are upsetting a lot of builders and companies. Please be careful and review your security systems if you haven't already. Maybe a security dog (a huge nasty one) to take on site with you and an extra one that stays at the house. There's too much money involved in most of the houses, someone is bound to get nasty with you. Anyway keep up the good work, consider the big dog they are great company and can buy you some time if SHTF.

I remember getting quotes from builders and asking that they provide a price, references and insurances. Only one complied with my request. I asked the others why and one well known local builder replied “that’s not the way it’s done”. Well, the one that did as I asked got the job. Your client being told by their builder they can’t advise you of their concerns because the builder says “that’s not how it’s done” is an example of this.

The blue tps ran with the aircon pipes will all degrade in the sun and then you have exposed 240v flapping in the breeze. The amount of unprotected aircon cables amd pipes i see even on multi million dollar homes is crazy.

Not that it will happen, but perhaps there is a need for a Royal Commission into the private home and unit building construction industry for the whole country. They could get submissions from affected owners to see how vast this problem is, tradespeople about their issues with payments, and pressure applied from building companies, and further develop or upgrade construction standards to 21st century requirements. Maybe we should go back in time and make it compulsory for each stage of a build to be physically checked and signed off by an independent "qualified" inspector before any payment is made? Also, they could look into developing some absolute minimum qualifications in order to gain a "builder credential" that applies Aussie wide. How is it possible for anyone to simply say they are a builder and get to work just like that? I know, a fairy tale or pipe dream, BUT change is needed and our Politicians have got to be pushed hard into doing something meaningful and do it soon. Imagine how BIG this problem is. In a decade or so the decomposition, and wear & tear of these builds is gonna be massive. Could a building collapse because of all the issues our Site Inspector shows in his videos? Mon dieu, the number of building could be astronomical. Brilliant video again.
